TROOP 888

AN ALL-FEMALE LED BSA TROOP, HOME OF THE CRAZY 8'S

EST. 2019

 OUR JOURNEY

It all started when 5 girls were sitting at a picnic bench outside of a small church. They all had an incredible ambition to get outside and take on the world around them. Considering the fact that most of them didn't know how to build a fire or survive outside, they all wanted to be a part of something many girls in America hadn't before... scouting. With many ups and downs, the girls learned how to be a team, lead one another, and have fun in the outdoors! As of now, the five girls sitting at a picnic bench have grown into a troop of 22 (and counting) bright young women learning how to overcome obstacles, lead by example, and show the world how to be scouts!

What does it mean to be Youth Led?

In Troop 888, we strive to teach every scout how to lead and grow as a team. As their skills progress and as they move up in rank, they will have opportunities to lead the troop and learn what it is like to make big decisions and lead the group in an orderly manner!

Why are we called the Crazy 8s?

Back when the troop first started, the scouts wanted to find a "troop call" that could give anyone who heard it a snippet about who we are. So now, anytime someone yells "troop 888" we yell... "THE CRAZY EIGHTS"

Where and when do we meet?

Troop 888 meets every Monday at 7:00pm at Winfree Baptist Church. (13617 Midlothian Tpke, Midlothian, VA 23113). At meetings we announce upcoming campouts and activities the troop will be doing, we sign off on rank requirements, and as a group we participate in a troop planned program that teachs the scouts new skills while having tons of fun!
